Boldness In Christ

Colossians 1:15-16

New International Version (NIV)

The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him

For Meditation

  1. Fear is a mocker and a bully; do you know that? Knowing this; why do we allow it to run our lives and ruin everything for us? Are we not children of the Most High?
  2. Why have we become like King Saul and the Israelite army before Goliath (1 Samuel 17:1-11)? Do you see how every situation becomes terrifyingly magnified through unsanctified eyes?
  3. But what happens when a David comes around? What happened to the nine feet tall champion from Gath and his intimidating armory and taunting words when the young man from Bethlehem who knew His God came around? Do you see how quickly the situation settled (21-54)?
  4. Don’t you admire David’s confidence when he confronted the Philistine? “You come against me with the sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the LORD Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied” (45). Shouldn’t that be our posture in the face of every situation that confronts us, if we truly know Christ and who we are in Him?
  5. Do you know how far fear would flee far from us, if we always remember who Christ Jesus is (Col. 1:15-16)? Do you have any idea how all those seemingly insurmountable mountains would become moles before us when we stop looking at things through our own eyes rather than through Jesus (Heb. 12:2-3)?

I pray you know that when we put on the full armor of God (Eph. 6:11), nothing in this dark world can stand against us and prevail (Rm. 8:38-39). Nothing! It’s because, “In all things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us” (37).

So: May the Lord give you sanctified eyes and boldness in His Spirit to be like Caleb and David, as you confront the world; and may every giant fall like Goliath when you walk in Jesus.

The grace of God be upon you!

Shalom
