Genesis 8:1
New International Version (NIV)
But God remembered Noah … and the waters receded.
For meditation
Sometimes, it is helpful to look back to see how God dealt with some people in the Bible at critical times in their lives. It encourages, refreshes, and strengthens our faith where we are failing. Considering that 2017 just opened to us with all its promises and uncertainties, I want to call into memory, a few instances of God’s intervention and standing on the ground of faith and the authority of Jesus, pronounce some blessings on all of us.
- “But God remembered Noah … in the ark, and he sent a wind over the earth, and the waters receded” (Gen. 8:1).
- May God remember you, as He remembered Noah, and move the elements in the heavens and on earth to restore and bring you into a new beginning, filled with His blessings, in Jesus’ gracious name. Amen!
- “So, when God destroyed the cities of the plain, he remembered Abraham, and he brought Lot out of the catastrophe that overthrew the cities where Lot had lived” (19:29).
- May God remember you, as He remembered Abraham and rescued Lot. May He move to rescue your loved ones from any catastrophe or danger that may be threatening them, in Jesus’ mighty name, amen!
- “Then God remembered Rachel; he listened to her and enabled her to conceive” (30:22).
- May God remember you, as He remembered Rachel, and cause you to conceive and give birth to a Joseph, in Jesus’ matchless name. Amen!
- May He remember you and cause you to conceive with new ideas and give birth to innovations that will transform your life and communities for His glory, in Jesus’ wonderful name. Amen!
- “God heard their groaning and he remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac and with Jacob” (Ex. 2:24).
- May God remember you, as He remembered His covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and moved to deliver their descendants from oppressive Egypt.
- May the Almighty remember your children because of His covenant with you in Christ Jesus.
- And may God step into your situation and deliver you, His beloved covenant child, from any oppression in your life with His compelling “mighty hand” (3:19), in Jesus’ glorious name. Amen!
I pray restoration, protection, deliverance, and fruitfulness, over you and your household, in the presence of Messiah Jesus, your Savior and Lord, and in His exalted name. Amen!
So: May the Lord cause you to believe again, remembering that you serve a living God who cares for you; and may your great and mighty God, who brought His people across the Red Sea and into a spacious land, hold your hand and bring you across every barrier and hindrance and into His promised inheritance. May you surmount every mountain and overcome every marauding opposition, in the name of Jesus!
Enjoy the best of heaven today, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
Shalom
