Exodus 3:5
New King James Version (NKJV)
Then He said, “Do not draw near this place. Take your sandals off your feet, for the place where you stand is holy ground.”
For Meditation
God told Moses not to come any closer, for where he stood was holy ground. It’s an experience we all yearn for daily.
But, why yearn for something we have already? Why expect an experience we’re already immersed in?
With the indwelling Holy Spirit, every believer stands on holy grounds everywhere we are. He is the anointing of God in us and by His presence (1 Jn. 2:20, 27), every place we’re is holy ground. It depends on our heart’s situation and mental awareness to recognize the experience. And as much as we do, we live in awe of His presence.
O, how things will change for us if we could bring our minds to apprehend this truth. How our lives would be transformed! For, in the presence of holiness, sin loses its power. Evil desires lose their appeal. Wasteful appetites become tasteless, and the world loses its glitter and shine. Position and power find their rightful place in humility. Academic, business, and social achievements reveal their weakness and inability to enslave anymore because the heart has found a new master. He is Christ the Lord, who gives us The Holy Spirit; and where the Spirit of God is, there is liberty (2 Cor. 3:17).
The Holy Spirit bears His fruit in the believer and directs our actions, as we yield to Him (Gal. 5:6, 22-23). In that yielded state, we’re able to resist the devil, and he flees from us (Jas. 4:7). Grace upon grace flow in us for holy living (Rm. 5:17; 1 Tim. 1:14). We gain a new appetite to know more of Christ and to be found in Him (Phil. 3:7-11). God is glorified, and we are edified.
Paul lived this way all the time.
- Why, then, are you living for a special experience before knowing holiness?
- Why do you chase after holiness from one place to another?
- Don’t you realize that by His Anointing in you, you can experience His Holy Presence everywhere you are?
- Is He not your auction for holy living?
- Don’t you know that the power you seek for your life is in Him who indwells you (2 Tim. 1:7)?
So, may you live the holy ground experience daily in Christ Jesus; and may the power of the Holy Spirit be your strength and joy on a daily consistent basis wherever you are.
To Him be glory forever, amen!
Shalom
