You Are Capable in Christ!

Jeremiah 1:5

New International Version (NIV)

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”

For meditation

  1. Isn’t it comforting to hear God speak about the ability He gives to His people? As He says in Deuteronomy 8:18, “Remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth.”
  2. Is it not the same God who gives ability to enjoy the wealth, possessions, honor, and all that our heart desires (Eccl. 5:19; 6:2)? Is it not the same God who gives His children knowledge, understanding and wisdom (Prov. 2:6)?
  3. Why then do we worry so much about getting things done when Christ, who is our life, is only a prayer away (Col. 3:4; James 1:5)?
  4. Can a well-oiled and maintained tool fail to work when plugged into its power source? Can it fail to function at best level when placed in the hands of a master craftsman?
  5. Have you forgotten the power you pack in Christ Jesus (Eph. 1:18-21)? Hasn’t He plugged you into the power of the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:8; 2:4)? Is He not your Master Craftsman (2:10)?
  6. Why then do you doubt your ability in any situation you find yourself in? Why so apprehensive about accomplishing the purpose for your life, if you set your heart and mind on Christ Jesus? Will He not give you everything you need and ask for doing His will?
  7. Just as God told Jeremiah, hasn’t He set you apart for your life’s purpose before He formed you in your mother’s womb (Jer. 1:5)? So, why do you worry about your ability to accomplish that purpose (5-6)?
  8. Where then is fear? Why the doubt and hesitation? Why the excuses? Why do you talk down on yourself, like Moses, and think you are not worthy of His call (Ex. 3:11-14; 4:1-13)?

I pray you will remember that He who has sent you, is able to equip and enable you to do what He has called you to do (Phil. 4:13).

So, may you determine, with confidence in Christ, to conquer your fears and ride the storm to do exploits for God; and may you glorify Him with the fruitfulness that comes from the Holy Spirit (Jn. 15:2; Gal. 5:22-23)!

The grace of God be with you, amen!

Shalom
