The Time Is Now

1 Samuel 25:18

New International Version (NIV)

Abigail acted quickly. She took two hundred loaves of bread, two skins of wine, five dressed sheep, five seahs of roasted grain, a hundred cakes of raisins and two hundred cakes of pressed figs and loaded them on donkeys.

For meditation

  1. Do you remember the saying, “time and tide waits for no one?”
  2. Do you have something to do today?
  3. Do you have a business to start, a course to undertake, or a project to start?
  4. Do you have somebody to visit, or a favor to return?
  5. Have you been reconciled to God through Christ Jesus (2 Cor. 5:18-21)?
  6. What are you waiting for (Jn. 1:12-13; Rm. 10:9-10, 13)?
  7. How about somebody you may have to reconcile and make peace with (Matt. 5: 23-26; 18:15)?
  8. Is it a song of praise you have in your heart to raise to our Lord in worship?
  9. Do you have to thank Him for just who He is, and what He has done and will do for you?
  10. Do you recall Abigail’s swift response to the hint of David’s threat against her household (1 Sam. 25:17-18)?
  11. Can you imagine the carnage her family would have suffered, had she procrastinated (34)?
  12. Is it any wonder that David commended her for her good judgment and quick action (32-33)?
  13.  So, what are you waiting for?
  14. Why don’t you get on with it and get it done for Christ’s sake?
  15. Why don’t you start now?
  16. Yes, I mean, now!

I pray the Lord to give you wisdom, direction and strength to accomplish what you start today, so that glory and honor will rise to Him through you.

May success crown your effort and fill your heart and home with joy, as you harvest the fruits of your labor in the Lord!

Shalom
