
You who may be thinking like Asaph that you have kept your heart pure in vain and have washed your hands in innocence for nothing (Ps. 73:13); or maybe you have been bemoaning your years of diligent service to the Lord and thinking that it’s been a waste of time; meditate on these promises and let them comfort and encourage you.
“The Lord then said to Noah, “Go into the ark, you and your whole family, because I have found you righteous in this generation” (Gen. 7:1).
“I swear by myself,” declares the Lord, “that because you have done this and have not withheld your son, your only son,I will surely bless you and make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as the sand on the seashore. Your descendants will take possession of the cities of their enemies” (Gen. 22:16-17).
“The land on which your feet have walked will be your inheritance and that of your children forever, because you have followed the Lord [your] God wholeheartedly” (Joshua 14:9)
“For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him.” (2 Chronicles 16: 9).
“And I will make the Egyptians favorably disposed toward this people, so that when you leave you will not go empty-handed (Exod. 3:21-22). So, “The Lord had made the Egyptians favorably disposed toward the people, and they gave them what they asked for; so, they plundered the Egyptians – (Exodus 12:36)
“Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain” – 1 Corinthians 15:58
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing” (2 Timothy 4:7-8).
