The Bully’s Arrow

So Jezebel sent this message to Elijah: “May the gods strike me and even kill me if by this time tomorrow I have not killed you just as you killed them.”

1 Kings 19:2

Encouragement
The trickiest part of the Christian life is when you return from the mountaintop experience with the Lord. You are most vulnerable at the point of your life when you think you have everything together. The enemy knows you are on cloud nine, so he comes after you like he did to Elijah through the threat of Jezebel. He always lurks around to ensnare you (1 Kings 19:1-5).

His tactic? Bait and catch! But don’t panic.

You see, temptation will come, but God always has a door of escape opened for you (1 Cor. 10:13-14). Look for it and run into His refuge.

Memorize scripture. Pray about your point of temptation. Get an accountability partner – one who can question, challenge, and encourage you.

“Now all glory to God, who is able to keep you from falling away and will bring you with great joy into his glorious presence without a single fault. All glory to him who alone is God, our Savior through Jesus Christ our Lord. All glory, majesty, power, and authority are his before all time, and in the present, and beyond all time! Amen” (Jude 1:24-25).

Shalom
