A messenger came to Saul, saying, “Come quickly! The Philistines are raiding the land.”Then Saul broke off his pursuit of David and went to meet the Philistines. That is why they call this place Sela Hammahlekoth.

Who is like God in timing? Who is like Him whose eyes are keenly set on his children like our Jehovah?

He is Omnipresent and Omniscient! Nothing escapes His watchful eyes and springs a surprise on His children to do them harm without His knowledge. He moves swifter than light and with perfect timing to protect them in critical situations.

David could not have been more surprised and relieved when Saul and his men abruptly pulled away from their chase on the opposite side of the mountain (1 Sam. 23:26-27). But that is the specialty of God. He is timely in rescuing His people.

You may be in imminent danger today, or your enemies may be closing on you, and you are terrified. My encouragement for you is, take heart. God is right there to rescue you. You may not know the reason for the sudden change of plans on the other side, but that is the providential hand of your Savior, Jesus Christ, at work on your behalf. If you are in doubt, call up a witness in Mordecai, and set your heart at peace (Esther 6:1-10). For, God will throw a curve ball at your enemy and pull them away from you in haste.

He is always on time to protect you.
