A Golden Promise

He will call on me, and I will answer him;
    I will be with him in trouble,
    I will deliver him and honor him (Psalm 91:15).

For Meditation

Do you remember the day you called in distress to share something with your parent, sibling, or friend but received no answer? How disappointed were you? Or maybe there was some emergency in your home, and you needed your spouse to come immediately. The telephone rang eternally without an answer until, disappointed, you dropped the call or kept trying until desperation set in.

These are human realities we experience every day. The person on the receiving end could be away from the phone (even with cell connectivity). They could be on another long call that keeps them from responding. But the worse is when the person may be angry with you and simply refuses to take your call. Or again, they may be refusing to answer your call because, somehow, you get on their nerves.

Thank God He is not human. Praise Him that His love transcends all our human limitations. That is why we can rejoice in His promise for today, for it is so golden and precious. It reveals the heart of God for His children who love Him.

For those who love God with all their heart, He promises four things in Psalm 91:15.

  • He will answer you when you call
  • He will be with you in trouble.
  • He will deliver you from your troubles.
  • He will honor you with His response before all people and the spiritual world.

Isn’t this amazing and comforting? How assuring!

So, be bold and courageous in this promise in the matchless name of Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit. It is all because of the love of the Father for you, His beloved.

His faithfulness is your “armor and protection” (4 NLT).

Shalom
