So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

For Meditation
Maybe you woke up this morning with your heart messed up, thinking, “what will I eat or drink today, or what will I wear?” Well, maybe that is not exactly your point of stress this morning. Nevertheless, you have serious hangovers and expectations to mess your breakfast delight. This is your word for today.
Do not worry. Your Father in heaven, who pre-sees and provides according to His sovereign will, has taken care of you already (Matt. 6:32; Gen. 22:14; Phil. 4:6-7).
He is telling you to let your priority be His kingdom and His righteous rule over your life and this world, especially, over His church. Desire it, will it, live it. And, pray for it.
As you do these things, He gives you this assurance: He will delight your heart with just what you need (Matt. 6:33).
Do not put the cart before the horse. Let the power of God do the work for you. Just rest in Him and be blessed today and every day of your life in Christ Jesus.
“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever! Amen” (Eph. 3:20-21).
