Anyone you forgive, I also forgive. And what I have forgiven—if there was anything to forgive—I have forgiven in the sight of Christ for your sake, in order that Satan might not outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes.

2 Corinthians 2:10-11

Consider how Satan thinks. If losing his wealth and children could not get Job to disown God, maybe an attack on his health would. So, he goes on the rampage, with God’s permission (Job 2:4-8). But wait a minute! Before you charge God with complicity in Satan’s evil and wicked agenda, stop right there.

God always puts limits on the devil concerning His children. He sets boundaries around His children that Satan cannot trespass. The soul of the believer is a no-go area for Satan (v.6; John 10:27-30). And that is our encouragement. But know this.

Just as Satan worked against Job, he does the same for every believer. He tries one plan after another to see what will get them to walk away from the Lord. If he gives it with the left hand and it offends you, he will do it with the right the next time.

So, know Satan’s schemes and rely on the Spirit of God to dismantle them all for your victory in Christ (2 Cor. 2:11; Gal. 5:16).
