When we consider the chaos around the world these days, it is refreshing to know and recall the goodness of God – His covenantal love that has grounded all his promises in Christ Jesus – and the assurances we can lean on every moment of the day (Lam. 3:21-22). That is why we are alive today. That is why we have hope for tomorrow.

Yesterday’s dose of the Lord’s compassion cannot carry you through today. So, He has faithfully provided a fresh package of mercy for you this morning (23). It is new and dripping with divine love. It will not fail you. So, take His invitation and confidently come into His throne room, and you will receive mercy and find grace to accompany you through the day (Heb. 4:16).

One of them is the rest He promises to give you when you are wearied and burdened by today’s pressure-packed work and responsibilities (Matt. 11:28). By faith, take those burdens to Him and receive encouragement and strength for the day. His peace that transcends understanding also stands ready to come along with you to calm your heart and mind in Christ Jesus.

You are in good hands today. So, live with confidence in Christ and the Father’s glory.
