He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”

For Meditation
So calmly reassuring and timely when I consider what is going on in the world today. Endless marches and protests cannot eradicate the current social, political, and economic upheavals around the world. Neither can empty promises of politicians relieve or restore anyone. But the “Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End” has the power and authority to do so! Powerful, because He made all things, seen and unseen. And He will do it!

He is the Eternal King who is seated on His throne above and reigns over all His creation. When He says, “I am making everything new!” you can take it to the bank and walk confidently through these tumultuous times and sleep soundly every night. His promises are “Yes” in Christ, and we say, “Amen!” to the glory of God (2 Cor. 1:20).

You may be confused and worried about the trend of world events today. Rest in Christ Jesus, my friend, and be refreshed by His authoritative rebuke of “the wind and raging waters,” and the immediate calm that fell over the sea (Lk. 8:24-25). That is who He is – God Almighty!

So, calm your heart with two assurances God gives us in His word today. His promise to renew all things in the end, and His faithfulness (Rev. 21:5).
