Faith that Delivers Grace

And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years

Mark 5:25

For Encouragement

Twelve years!

That is a lifetime of suffering –

Hemorrhaging,

unable to take part in the life of her community,

lonely, perhaps, and shunned by neighbors.

None desires defiling.

Doctors took their turns with her,

baffled,

yet profiting from her predicament.

“Is there no balm in Gilead? Is there no physician there? Why then is there no healing for the wound of my people?” (Jer. 8:22).

Yes, there is!

And on His way to the house of Jairus,

his twelve-year-old girl,

needing healing, just like you.

“If I can just touch his robe, I will be healed” (Mk. 5:28).

Faith, woman!

That is itFaith that delivers grace for healing.

“Who touched me?”

Master—the crowd!

No!

“Someone deliberately touched me, for I felt healing power go out from me.”

A pause, those piercing eyes, looking around,

demanding confession—

a witness for Jairus.

On her knees at His feet, she fell,

trembling,

with miraculous healing under her wings,

joy bubbling in her heart.

“Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace. Your suffering is over” (34).

So, you have a problem?

Jesus still makes house calls,

and has time for your situation,

on the road to the house of Jairus—

His only demand? Your faith.

You think it ridiculous? Never it is — for,

“With man this is impossible, but with God, all things are possible” (Matt. 19:26).
