Luke 2:9-10
New Living Translation
Suddenly, an angel of the Lord appeared among them, and the radiance of the Lord’s glory surrounded them. They were terrified, but the angel reassured them. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people.
Your Encouragement
The shepherds had the surprise of their lives when an angel of the Lord appeared to them. Fear struck them, but the angel assuaged their dread with those comforting words I love to hear a thousand times.
Do not be afraid! … I bring you good news of great joy to all people (Luke 2:10).
That is “good news of great joy,” indeed!
It was then.
It is now.
It will ever be.
The Savior—Christ Jesus—was born in Bethlehem, lived among His people, died on the cross, was buried, rose the third day, ascended into heaven, and is coming for His redeemed (1 Timothy 3:16).
That indeed is Good News to live and die for until He comes.
It is the best news that is worthy of sharing a million times everywhere.
It is Good News for all people (Titus 2:11).
So, share it everywhere and wherever today finds you.
Prayer:
Thank you, Lord Jesus, for the surprise of my life—You!
Surprise me, repeatedly, for the glory of your holy name.
You surprised the world when you came in the flesh.
You surprised the world when you rose from the grave and ascended into heaven.
You will surprise the world when you come for your redeemed (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18).
Lord, help me live prepared for your coming (2 Timothy 4:7-8) that you will not find me wanting.
I pray this in your matchless name, Lord Jesus. Amen!
