When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to him and said, “I am God Almighty walk before me faithfully and be blameless.
Your Encouragement
Three things the Lord told Abraham that we want to hold up today for our encouragement.
- To know that He is God Almighty.
- To walk faithfully with Him.
- To be blameless before Him.
God reminded Abraham that when He makes a covenant (Genesis 15:4-5), He is All-powerful and All-Sufficient to keep it (17:1). The occasion was after Abraham had staggered in faith and had a son with Hagar (16:1-4). The old couple could not trust God long enough to give them the covenant son. Though Abraham believed, and God credited it to Him as righteousness (15:6), the waiting period tested his faith and became unbearable for him and Sarah. So, they helped God. But does God need help?
Maybe God has pushed your faith to the limit, and you are stumbling. God is calling you to repent and renew your faith in Him, who can keep His promises. He is assuring you He can give you everything you need to walk in a covenant relationship with Him.
Today, El-Shaddai wants you to walk faithfully with Him and determine to do nothing that will weigh on your conscience before Him (17:1; 39:9; Dan. 1:8).
You will see His glory in due time.
Shalom and good morning.
Amen!
