Psalm 27:1
New International Version
The Lord is my light and my salvation—
whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life—
of whom shall I be afraid?
For Encouragement
“The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear?”
I say, NONE!
God Almighty Himself is my light—not that He gives me light. He is my light that reveals and dispels every darkness and ushers me into His kingdom, the kingdom of the Son of His love—Jesus Christ—the Light of the world (Colossians 1:13; John 8:12).
He is my salvation—my Deliverer from the flames of hell. What then should I fear again?
The Lord is my strength—no power can stand against me and prevail.
Jesus is my life—the old life is gone, the new has come (2 Corinthians 5:17). There is no fear in this new life—only peace and joy.
- The powers of darkness cannot prevail against me (Ephesians 6:10-18).
- Hell cannot threaten me because Jesus is my Savior Redeemer (Matthew 10:28).
- The giants of this world are no match to the strength the Lord gives me by His Spirit who indwells me (2 Timothy 1:7).
- Death has lost its power over me (Hebrews 2:14-15; 1 Corinthians 15:54-55); nothing scares me anymore.
For the Lord Jesus is my light and my salvation—the stronghold of my life, and your life!
Hallelujah! Amen!
