In the Fullness of Time

Galatians 4:4-5

New King James Version

But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born[a] of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.

For Meditation

Everything works well under the right environment and conditions in God’s plan. That is why we have to wait for things to work out for us, even when we have prayed.

Israel tarried in Egypt for 430 years before God delivered them. They had to become a nation for God to call out, and Canaan had to be ready for them. They wandered in the wilderness for forty years until all the men of military age who came out of Egypt had died before God allowed them into Canaan. God decreed Seventy years for them in their Babylonian exile before returning to their own country. In the meantime, He told them to settle down to work, marry and increase in number (Jer. 29).

Agreeably, one of the hardest things for all of us to do is wait for the right time, as the story of Esau and Jacob illustrates (Gen. 25:29-34). Knowing the time is one thing but having the patience to wait for it is another thing altogether. Our expectations may not have happened because conditions may not be right yet. However, things fall in place when God’s time has fully come, and He has put all the right conditions and parameters in place. That is the case with all inventions in the world. God’s set times usher them in, and scientists rejoice as if they are their creation.

In the same light, God set a day and time for Jesus to come into the world to save humanity. And so, “when the time had fully come, God sent His Son… to redeem those under the law” (Gal. 4:4). Before that time, the world had to wait as He worked the conditions for Christ to come. Christmas marks the right time when the grace of God that brings salvation came to all men (Titus 2:11).

Likewise, God has a day set for Him to intervene in your situation. He has a day to answer your prayer. Wait for His perfect time, when God makes all things beautiful for you (Ecclesiastes 3:11). In the meantime, allow Jesus to prepare you for eternity until He comes for us (1Thess. 4:13-17).
