Genesis 8:1
New Living Translation
But God remembered Noah and all the wild animals and livestock with him in the boat. He sent a wind to blow across the earth, and the floodwaters began to recede.
For Meditation
God never forgot Noah in the ark. He designed the rescue plan and announced it to Noah. God made him a preacher of righteousness while he built the ark, a masterfully designed craft, to rescue His children from the coming judgment. When Noah’s obedience was complete, God commanded His servant to enter the rescue ship with his family with all the animals in pairs. Then the Lord shut him in (Genesis 7:16). What security from the devastation outside the ark!
How could God forget Noah after such a great rescue and security? His judgment will pass, and mercy will prevail. Soon, He would usher His obedient child and his family into a new and refreshing beginning. He who is the keeper of His people never forgets His rescued in the bunker. He is All-knowing!
Why then the statement, God remembered Noah, but only to reveal what He does when He finishes exacting His righteous judgment on the disobedient. He returns to lead His redeemed triumphantly out into His freshness to assure them He has never forgotten them.
The Almighty has also saved you in His Son. He has secured you in Him, and He will bring you to glory by His grace.
How then can you think your Savior has forgotten you? You may be uncomfortable where He has you now, but you are still in His secured presence where the ravages of the world around you cannot touch your soul (Psalm 91). Soon, He will lead you out into His eternal bliss.
But for now, may He remember you wherever your circumstances have you. May the Lord send His wind to blow over the waters of adversity in your life and cause it to recede. May He stop all the destructive forces around you and give you a peek into your future.
Open the window by you now and feel the burst of fresh air that rushes into your face. Step out at His command and into the blessings of the new and joyful beginning He has for you this year. Then bow in worship of Him who deserves all your praise. Amen.
