Acts 7:34
New King James Version
I have surely seen the oppression of My people who are in Egypt; I have heard their groaning and have come down to deliver them. And now come, I will send you to Egypt.” ’
For Encouragement
In Genesis 15:13, God told Abraham that a strange country would enslave and oppress his descendants for four hundred years before He brought them back to possess the land He had promised him. Until the sins of the Amorites reached their full measure (16), they had to bear under the oppression of that country. Over time, God brought Jacob and his family to Egypt under favorable and fruitful conditions through Joseph. However, things changed for the Israelites, just as they always do for all of us.
No condition is permanent, as the saying goes. Only one thing remains the same: God’s word. His word remains the same because it is the very expression of His being—immutable (Malachi 3:6).
Egypt came under a new king, to whom Joseph meant nothing. Abraham’s descendants had increased and became a national threat. The Pharaoh enslaved the Hebrews for a national construction agenda, so the oppression started (Exodus 1:8-23). The Egyptian supervisors were ruthless and made life bitter for the Israelites (13-14) until God raised Moses to deliver them.
Your situation may not be like the Egyptian oppression, but it may be equally distressing. You have cried to the Lord for His intervention, just as the Israelites did under the burden and tyranny of Egypt. Your tears could fill the ocean. The emotional stress mounts with the turn of each event, and the anxious days roll on endlessly. Meanwhile, Heaven has been silent despite your faith in God’s promises. Just one miracle, Lord, has been your mantra for chasing the mirage with an ever-increasing thirst. You know your situation or that of a loved one, so I will not list any here. Just hear this word of the Lord, as He told Moses concerning the Israelites.
I have surely seen the oppression of My people who are in Egypt, and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters, for I know their sorrows. So I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians (Exodus 3:7-8).
God always sees every situation His children go through; He hears their groaning and cares for them. He is not apathetic. At the set time, God will do something about it. The God of Sinai is the same God Gabriel announced to Mary, and He has not changed since Pentecost.
He may be silent to you, but don’t let it deceive you. He has assigned a caseworker to your situation. It is a matter of time, my friend. Your night will give way to dawn (Psalm 30:5).
God will resolve your issue with tenderness and sovereign grace. How He does it remains with Him, but you can be sure He will delight your heart with the dawn of His glory on you.
