Psalm 91:15
New International Version

He will call on me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble,
I will deliver him and honor him.

For Meditation
Remember the day you had a distressing situation and wanted to share something with your parent, sibling, or friend but received no answer to your call? How disappointed were you? Or there was an emergency in your home, and you needed your spouse to come. The telephone rang without an answer until, disappointed; you dropped the call or kept trying until desperation set in.
These are human realities we experience every day. The person at the receiving end could be away from the phone or experiencing poor connectivity. They could also be on another long call that keeps them from responding. But the worst is when someone doesn’t want to take your call because you get on their nerves.
Thankfully, God is not bound by human limitations. Nothing holds Him back from answering when you call on Him. His love transcends all, providing a comforting contrast to our human experiences.
The new year is young, but there is so much anticipation of better things than last year. We cannot do them alone or walk the journey alone. But how can we rely on uncertain human support when we need it? How can we drive through this new year when our distress call cannot receive a response from family, friends, and colleagues?
God’s promises, as revealed in today’s passage, provide the answer. They are not mere words. They are a steadfast foundation, a testament to His unwavering love for His children. They offer us security and hope in uncertain times.
God promises you who love God and acknowledge His name four things in Psalm 91:15.
• He will answer when you call.
• He will be with you in trouble.
• He will deliver and honor you.
• He will satisfy you with a long life and ultimate salvation.
These promises are striking and comforting. They are particularly assuring in this age of worldwide uncertainty and terror!
The assurances can incite courage and determination to face whatever 2025 dishes out to you. Fear retreats, and calm beyond understanding settles on you for the journey through the year. The power of the Holy Spirit will accomplish this for you in Christ to the glory of the Father. Amen.

Pray with Me
Thank you, Lord, for your faithfulness, which is my armor and protection. Give me the grace to love you more this new year.
