John 15:5
New International Version (NIV)
“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.
For meditation
The church was small—with a membership under a hundred. That, however, didn’t matter. The fellowship was profound; the teaching and preaching of the word were excellent. Talk about anointed praise and worship; we were there. Our prayer sessions were Spirit-fired. But something happened with the top leadership, and the ministry lost its fire. The enemy knows the Achilles heel of every church leader, and he will exploit it every time the church loses vigilance. The flesh set itself up as king, and the dispersion began. Soon, the church I still relish became a tiny shell of itself in an obscure place in Accra.
God never loses a battle, and His plans never fall short. The vision God gave the Pastor found fulfillment through the dispersion. As a result, many pastors have thrived and are now spreading the word worldwide. I am fortunate enough to be one of them. The impact that the small church has had on our lives, aligning with God’s agenda for His Kingdom, is immeasurable. Even though others may perceive it differently, God envisioned it this way for the young Pastor.
What is your life vision as a Christian? Do you have a mission statement? Are you living up to it? Jesus said He has chosen and appointed us to bear fruit that will last (Jn. 15:16). As a Christian, is that what your life is about? Does your life honor God? Does it exemplify the purity of the Christian faith you profess? Is your life influencing others for God’s Kingdom? Will people say they are better Christians because of you?
As we reflect on our lives, let us remember that the positive impact we make on others for Christ and His Kingdom is not fleeting. It is a fruit that will remain for eternity, receiving commendation from our Lord Jesus Christ (Matt. 25:21, 23). Our actions, no matter how small they may seem, have eternal significance.
So, may we remain in Jesus to bear fruit that will impact the Kingdom of God (Jn. 15:5), and may Christ find delight in us because we have been faithful to our call in Him.
The essence of Christian growth shows in our impact on others for Christ.
Pray with Me
Lord, we need your grace to remain in you and faithfully share your love with all for your kingdom agenda. In Christ, Amen.
