Experiencing the Holy

Exodus 3:5

New King James Version (NKJV)

Then He said, “Do not draw near this place. Take your sandals off your feet, for the place where you stand is holy ground.”

For Meditation

God told Moses not to come any closer, for where he stood was holy ground. It is an experience we all yearn for daily. Such experiences are indeed unique, but why yearn for what we already have in our daily lives? Why expect an experience in which God has already immersed us?

The Presence of our Holy God made the ground on Mount Sinai holy. His holiness is what makes everything that comes near Him holy. So, with the Holy Spirit’s indwelling, every believer becomes holy and stands on sacred ground everywhere they are. Tragically, we have not seen our lives in that light. The Holy Spirit is the Anointing of God in us, and by His presence, every place we stand is holy ground (1 Jn. 2:20, 27). It depends on our heart’s situation and mental awareness to recognize the experience. And as much as we do, we live in awe of His presence.

O, how things will change for us if we could bring our minds to apprehend this truth. How it will transform our lives! For, in the presence of holiness, sin loses its power. Evil desires lose their appeal. Unholy appetites become tasteless, and the world loses its glitter and shine. Position and power find their rightful place in humility. Academic, business, and social achievements reveal their weakness and inability to enslave any longer because the heart has found a new master. He is Christ the Lord, who gives us The Holy Spirit; and where the Spirit of God is, there is liberty (2 Cor. 3:17).

The Holy Spirit bears His fruit in the believer and directs our actions as we yield to Him (Gal. 5:6, 22-23). In that yielded state, we are able to resist the devil, and he flees (Jas. 4:7). Grace upon grace flows in us for holy living (Rm. 5:17; 1 Tim. 1:14). We gain enhanced longing to know more of Christ and to be found in Him (Phil. 3:7-11). Paul lived this way, and It glorifies God and edifies us.

The Holy Spirit anoints us for holy living, and to the extent that we acknowledge this truth, is the degree to which our daily life is committed to holiness. Sometimes, He gives us unique experiences for special purposes. However, recognizing the Holy Spirit as God’s Anointing uplifts us to daily experience His Holy Presence everywhere we go.

So, may we live the holy ground experience daily in Christ Jesus, and may the power of the Holy Spirit be our strength and joy on a d wherever we are.

To Him be glory forever, amen!

Pray with Me

Father, thank you for your majesty and Holy Presence. May we recognize that your indwelling Holy Spirit is our daily experience with your holiness. Please help us to remind ourselves of this truth so we can live Holy lives and enjoy you consistently. We ask this in the precious name of Jesus, amen.
