His advisers and his wife Zeresh said to him, “Since Mordecai, before whom your downfall has started, is of Jewish origin, you cannot stand against him—you will surely come to ruin!”

 This is a must memorize scripture for every Christian. It speaks of the absolute protection the child of God has against every adversary. The scripture is a source of encouragement from which boldness and courage spring forth. Its truth drives away fear and establishes confidence in the faithful. You may not know it, but Satan knows it and shudders. Your enemies also know the same truth. They cannot stand against you because you are God’s child in Christ.

Haman heard this truth too late. The seventy-five feet high gallows for Mordecai finally became the instrument of his own death (Esther 7:10).

Those who have boasted against God’s people have learned the same lesson too. Pharaoh, Goliath, Sennacherib, Sanballat and Tobiah, and Nebuchadnezzar have their stories about this buried with them. The Pharisees and Jewish leaders confronted the same truth years later. When they crucified Jesus, they congratulated themselves. Hell rejoiced that the Savior had died. But the party stopped three days later. The grave could not contain Jesus. His is risen!

That is the victory for every Christian – the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

1. Why then are you afraid for your life?
2. Why do you lose sleep over the schemes and skirmishes of your opponents in the office?
3. Who can sleep when your issue comes up for resolution in the court of heaven?
4. When God decides to humble your enemies, will it not be a pitiful day for them?
5. When Jesus issues the final word against your antagonist, who can resist His pronouncement?

 I pray you will hear God speaking to you this morning in the words of the Psalmist. “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth” (Ps. 46:10).

So, be strong and courageous!  God’s providential hand is at work on your behalf. Just step aside with Jesus in prayer, meditation, and soul-searching. You will see how fast your anxieties would flee, as peace and confidence check in with the Holy Spirit.

Your protection is absolute in Christ.
