Romans 8:33
New International Version (NIV)
Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies.
For meditation
Worry and fear are two powerful instruments in the enemy uses effectively against the ignorant believer. The two are natural emotions that everyone experiences now and then. What defeats the believer, therefore, is when we choose to be uninformed about our Savior and what He has bequeathed to us in salvation. Because many believers don’t study the Bible to know their authority in Christ, the enemy uses their ignorance against them.
- But, do you know that ignorance is a choice?
- Do you know that the believer chooses to be ignorant when they don’t take time to inform themselves in the word of God?
- Do you understand, then, why many Christians are ignorant about their heritage in Christ (Eph. 1:3; 2:6)?
- When our Bibles become decorative pieces on our shelves, how can we be intimate with Jesus enough to know our riches in Him?
- For instance, have you taken the time to study Romans 8:33-34?
- Isn’t it liberating to know that in Christ, there is now no condemnation for the believer before God (Rm. 8:1)? Where then is fear when you apprehend this truth?
- How can’t you shake yourself from spiritual bondage when you apprehend the truth of Jesus’ assurance that when He sets you free, you’re free indeed (Jn. 8:36)?
- Why do you fear hell when the Judge of all people has paid the penalty for your sin on the Cross and has reconciled you to God (Rm. 3:25; 5:8; 8:1; 2 Cor. 5:18)?
- With your Advocate, Jesus Christ, seated at the right hand of God interceding for you, who can bring a charge against you and win (1 Jn. 2:1; Rm. 8:33-34)?
- So, why do you allow fear to paralyze you concerning your security in Christ as if their claims could nullify the atonement (Rm. 3:25)?
- Is the blood of Jesus so cheap to be wasted on one sin a believer commits?
- Where, then, is God’s faithfulness to His word (Jn. 3:16; 6:39-40; 2 Tim. 2:13)?
I pray you will be confident in God’s faithfulness and His grace that assures the believer of His eternal presence. Neutralize, therefore, the enemy’s trusted weapons of worry and fear with a positive attitude of faith in Christ Jesus. Keep short accounts with God (1 Jn. 1:9), and trust in Christ’s finished work for you.
May the Holy Spirit liberate you from the fear of eternal damnation to sing God’s praises in Christ.
He who is faithful who has said, “I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hands” (Jn. 10:28).

Great message Pastor, God bless you. Just to point out a little mistake. In your eight point, you mention 1 Cor 5:18. After checking my Bible I realised chapter 5 had only thirteen verses. I checked for 2 Cor 5:18 and feel that was the correct scripture. Just for clarification sake. Thank you again for your message. Have a blessed day. My greetings to Auntie Akos.
