A Sanctified Life

How can I curse those whom God has not cursed? How can I denounce those whom the Lord has not denounced?

Numbers 23:8

Your Blessing

The rogue prophet, Balaam had it right. He had it right because God put those words in his mouth (Nu. 22:35).

He spoke for the first time about Israel (23:7-10). He spoke from God concerning His special people, “camped along the Jordan river across from Jericho” (1). He had commission from Balak, the Moabite king, to curse Israel. But, when he opened his mouth to speak, words of admiration rather flowed.

 “How can I curse
those whom God has not cursed?
How can I denounce
those whom the Lord has not denounced?”

Isn’t that wonderful?

How can anybody curse you whom God has blessed? How could anybody denounce you, when the Almighty, your Father in heaven, does not condemn you, because He sees you in Christ Jesus? (Rm. 8:1).

Balaam looked from the rocky peeks and saw “a people who live apart and do not consider themselves as part of the nations” (23:9).

That’s who we are in Christ Jesus – a people set apart to God (1 Cor. 1:30) and rescued from the dominion of darkness into the kingdom of the Son He loves (Col. 1:13-14). The question is: Do you see yourself in this way? More than that. Do you live a sanctified life – set apart from the world?

Then, may you put away the fear of man that drives your life on shaky and tumultuous grounds and walk boldly by the Spirit today to declare God’s glory over your life in Christ Jesus.

Amen!
