For Meditation

1. Have you ever felt this lonely before – the time when all your trusted friends and family deserted you?
2. But, didn’t they make you think they loved you?
3. Didn’t they make you feel they will be there for you through thick and thin?
4. So, why did they desert you when you needed them the most?
5. Were they not always around you when the crowd couldn’t have enough of you?
6. Didn’t they sit and dine with you all the time?
7. When you said they will soon desert you, didn’t they deny it to your face?
8. Didn’t their leader and your closest friend assure you he wouldn’t even if everyone should desert you?
9. When you pressed your case with him on that issue, didn’t he declare his readiness to go down with you, even if everybody deserted you?
10. Didn’t that encourage everybody to say the same?
11. What happened when you asked them to spend the night in prayer with you in the anguish of your soul?
12. Did they not snore it away?
13. With willing spirits but heavy eyes, didn’t they continue sleeping while you poured your heart out to the Father through the night?
14. Are you surprised they all deserted you when the soldiers came for you?
15. Where was the boastful head of the clan who swore he would die with you?
16. When the little girl called him out as one of your confidants, did he not swear with curses that he did not know you from anywhere?
17. And where was the one who described himself as the one you loved most?
