Let the Sweet Fragrance Fill the Air.

But thanks be to God, who always leads us as captives in Christ’s triumphal procession and uses us to spread the aroma of the knowledge of him everywhere.

2 Corinthians 2:14

Your Encouragement

Thank God that we Christians are captives in the triumphal procession of Christ (2 Cor. 2:14). Like a soccer team that has just won the world championship and has returned home to a victory parade, Christ is taking a victory lap through the physical and spiritual world for defeating the enemies of God by His death and resurrection (Col. 2:15).

You, my friend, have been blessed to be led in His celebratory parade as His captive, freed by grace into His kingdom (Col. 1:13-14; Eph. 2:8-9). You are His prized possession (1 Pt. 2:9), precious to Him (4), the evidence of His finished work of redemption.

You are the aroma of Christ (2 Cor. 2:15), a sweet-smelling sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God (Rm. 12:1). God wants to use this aroma to spread the knowledge of Christ wherever you are.

So, like Mary (Jn. 12:3), go out there today and let off that sweet perfume – the fragrance of life (2 Cor.2:16) – through your witness of Him by word and deed. Let your life proclaim Christ to the world, and boldly proclaim Him as Lord and Savior. Display the “light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ” (4:6) to the world around you and bring Him glory today.

Shalom.
