Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.

For Meditation

Today is a gift from God parceled to you from above. Your name is inscribed on it with gold letters, for you are extremely special to your Lover – Christ Jesus.

It is unique to you. Everybody who breathes this second has their own, but theirs are none like yours.

It is a good day, so receive it, and be thankful to your Father, who is in heaven. Hallow His name and let Him know how much you love Him too.

Not only is it good. It is wonderful. It is ideal for you because God knows you absolutely and has custom-made it for you.

He wants you to know that His love for you will never change because He does not change like shadows that shift as the day wears away. As the Palmist says, “Your love, Lord, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies” (Ps. 36:5). That is your assurance for the day.

So, live this day as if there will be no other, and let the world know that your Lover is the Creator of the universe. The world can starve you of their love for all you care, and you will not notice it because you are filled and overwhelmed by the love of your Father, and your Savior, Jesus Christ.

To Him be all glory, now and forever. Amen!
