Confident Assurance in God

The Lord who rescued me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear will rescue me from the hand of this Philistine.”

1 Samuel 17:37

Your Encouragement

When you truly know God, you can trust Him. When you have tried and tested Him in the straits of life, you can be confident in His power to overcome every situation every time. When others are afraid and hiding from the giants in their lives, you will confront yours with confident assurance in God and slay them. It is because you know God enough to know that it is all about Him and not you. Every battle in your life is about His glory. It is not about how you fare. It is about His banner over you that cannot suffer defeat. As you learn to look to Him before every giant and not yourself, your faith grows from situation to situation.

At the battle of Elah, the champion warrior of the Philistines, Goliath, with his nine-foot frame, monstrous accouterments, and intimidating battle cries, reduced King Saul, and his army to wimps. They hid from him for days in great fear. But everything changed when David came to the scene.

Though formidable, the seventeen-year-old shepherd boy did not consider the giant from a personal point of view. He looked beyond Goliath to the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, who gave him the strength to kill the lion and the bear that threatened his flock. He called the nine-foot giant’s bluff (1 Sam. 17:45-47). He became an instant hero and a national champion.

So, take a giant step today against the lions and bears that are attacking your business, job, or property. Then you will have the confident assurance in your conquering King, Jesus Christ, our Lord, to confront and kill every Goliath that ventures against your life, your marriage, and your family in the future.

David said, “You come to me with sword, spear, and javelin, but I come to you in the name of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies—the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied” (45 NLT).

The battle belongs to the Lord. Give it to Him and experience a shocking victory for His glory (47).
