Ephesians 2:4-5
New King James Version
“But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved).”
For Encouragement
“But God!”
That’s it—ourselves right there. Those two words—the game changers—the grace that makes the difference in our lives. These two words change the course of our lives.
Remember the verdict of our lives that we talk about in our last two messages?
“Once you were dead because of your disobedience and your many sins. You used to live in sin, just like the rest of the world, obeying the devil—the commander of the powers in the unseen world. He is the spirit at work in the hearts of those who refuse to obey God. All of us used to live that way, following the passionate desires and inclinations of our sinful nature. By our very nature we were subject to God’s anger, just like everyone else” (Ephesians 2:1-3).
“But God!”
He is so rich in mercy — withholding His wrath from us and forgiving our sins. By His kindness and love, God has saved us from the terrible consequences of our sins and given us His grace to enjoy the fullness of Christ’s resurrection. Hallelujah, what a Savior!
So, rejoice this morning and continue in His grace without forgetting the honor He deserves in everything you do or think about.
Shalom
