Your Encouragement

If we have ever needed stability in our lives, it is now. If there has ever been a time when we needed to feel safe, it is today.

Thank God that we find stability and safety in Jesus, our risen Savior and King. He is our Rock and the anchor for our lives. With Him, we have a peace beyond words (Eph. 6:15; Phil. 4:7), and in Him, we are safe (Prov. 18:10).

He is your fortress, keeping you safe even when storms rage and strong winds press against you. No enemy can break through to harm you, because you have perfect protection. That is how secure you are in Him.

For the sake of His name, Christ will lead and guide you in everything when you seek Him for direction (Psa. 31:3c). But what is the value of His name?

The name of Jesus is above every other name, in every place and time. Paul says, “At the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father” (Phil. 2:9-11). 

This is the power of His name in any situation you face. The psalmist understood this and asked God to rise, scatter His enemies, and make His foes run away (Psa. 68:1). The Holy Spirit is with you to make this real.

So do not be afraid of any news you hear. Do not let any report take away your peace. Whenever trouble comes, turn to God, just as Jehoshaphat did when he heard about the armies coming against him. Say to Him:

“We have no power to face this grand army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you” (2 Chronicles 20:12). Listen as God tells you, just as He told Jehoshaphat: “Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s” (15). [Emphasis mine.]

God will lead and guide you as He led Judah against the grand army of those four nations (16-17; Psa. 31:3c), if you turn your situation to Him in humility. Just trust Him, your Rock and Fortress. Praise Him even in your battles (21-26), and rest in His peace. Amen!

Father, thank you for being my strength and my protection in every storm and battle through Christ Jesus, the Commander of Heaven’s armies. I trust the Holy Spirit to lead me and help me see your promises fulfilled. Amen.
